Yamshchykova Katerina Leonidivna
Biography
Born on December 7, 1990 in the city of Poltava.
Has a higher education. Graduated from the Ukrainian Medical Stomatological Academy (now Poltava State Medical University), receiving a diploma with honors. During her studies, she was an active student leader and founded the volunteer headquarters "In the Rhythm of Youth". She is a graduate of the programs of the Kyiv-Mohyla Business School and the Bohdan Hawrylyshyn Foundation "Youth Will Change Ukraine".
She began her professional career in the field of entrepreneurship. She has over 10 years of experience in business consulting and developing her own business. She worked in management teams of cultural institutions, was engaged in the reconstruction of facilities and the development of investment programs. In 2021, she joined the "Mistohab" project as a fundraiser and headed the "Great Restoration" project at the Poltava Museum of Local Lore.
Since 2014, she has been actively involved in the public life of Poltava. She is a mentor of youth and women's entrepreneurship programs, the author of educational initiatives, and a co-organizer of events to revive Ukrainian traditions.
In 2022, she became one of the founders of the public volunteer association "Defense of Poltava".
In May 2022, she voluntarily joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. She served as a medic in the 116th separate territorial defense brigade, in particular in the Donetsk region, performing the duties of the head of the medical service for the evacuation of the wounded in the "Yetti Medics" unit. She has the military rank of sergeant. Initiated a series of educational programs in tactical medicine for the military.
For her military and public activities, she was awarded the Order of Merit of the 3rd degree (2022), the Medal "For Sacrifice and Love for Ukraine" of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (2023).
In 2020, she was elected a deputy of the Poltava City Council of the 8th convocation. She headed the inter-factional association "Equal Opportunities", co-founder of the initiative "Let's Save Poltava".
On July 28, 2023, she was elected Secretary of the Poltava City Council.
Kateryna Yamshchykova defines her main task as the development of a strong, stable and safe Poltava, where every resident has equal opportunities for self-realization. She is convinced that the future of the city is based on an active civic position, the development of entrepreneurship, strengthening the local community, and support for veterans.
