Brief description:
The villages are located on one of the sources of the Poluzir'ya River. The village of Takhtaulove arose in the first half of the 18th century. The name is of Tatar origin. Near the old part of the village (former Pobyvanka) Scythian mounds have been preserved. The village of Zhuky was founded in the early 17th century. - the founder is considered to be the Cossack Ivan Yakovych Zhuchenko. Zhuky saw the events of the War of Liberation of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, the uprising led by Pushkar and Barbash. In 1709, the headquarters of Charles XII, Ivan Mazepa and parts of the army of Peter I were located here. The Cossack chronicler Samiylo Velichko was born in Zhuky. A memorial sign was erected to him in 1995, and scientific conferences and cultural events dedicated to his legacy are regularly held.
