Brief description:

The village of Suprunivka is located near the city of Poltava, adjacent to the villages of Shostaki and Ivashki. The village of Suprunivka, founded during the time of the Polish crown hetman S. Konetspolsky in the first half of the 17th century. as a small Cossack farm, lying above the Reshetylivskyi road. According to legend, the village was founded by the Cossack Suprun Myltsi - originally from the village of Myltsi. In the second half of the 17th century. his sons Lavrin Suprunenko, who was the ataman of the village of Zhuky and Ostap Suprunenko, a noble Cossack, are mentioned. The village of Ivashki is adjacent to the village of Suprunivka. Founded in the first half of the 17th century. According to local legend, a Cossack, the local chieftain Ivashko, lived in the village, who was in charge of defending the village, which was hiding in the forests, from attacks by nomads. From him, the village got its name Ivashki. The village of Myltsi is located 3 km from the city of Poltava, 0.5 km from the villages of Suprunivka and Kuklyntsi. Perhaps the name of the settlement was given by the first settlers, who loved this place and called it "mylym". The first settlers built their huts on the slopes of Mylchanska Balka. There is a legend that says that Cossacks from the surrounding villages of Ivashki, Suprunivka, Govtvianchyka went to these beautiful places to fish at the ponds. For the beauty of the area with picturesque reservoirs, they called them "mylym". Perhaps the origin of the name of the village is described in this legend. Another legend says that millers lived in these places, and because there were many mills there, these places were called "Mlynarsky", and the village was called "Mlyntsy", the name of which was later transformed into "Myltsy".
