Brief description:

The village of Abazivka was founded in the 1840s on the site of the Kurilekhivka farm. The original name of the village was Elizavetine (in honor of Elizaveta Abazi - the wife of the landowner Mykola Abazi). A palace, the Assumption Church (built in 1847, with a bell tower, has not survived), a brick factory, a woolen factory, a distillery, a horse-drawn post station, and two taverns were built here. The Abazis had a serf theater, an orchestra of Italian musicians, and artists worked on the estate. An annual fair was held in the village. Since 1922, an embroidery distribution point has operated in Abazivka, on the basis of which in the mid-1920s the embroidery artel "Selyanka Kustarka" was created (since 1936 - a branch of the Poltava artel named after Lesya Ukrainka), where they were engaged in weaving, embroidery, and carpet weaving. In 1930, the collective farm "Peremoha" (later "Named after the newspaper "Pravda") was created, which operated until 1976, it housed a breeding plant where Orel trotters were bred. From the mid-70s to 1990, Abazivka and the surrounding villages were part of the Suprunivka village council, but in 1990 the Abazivka village council was restored. Two rivers flow through Abazivka: Didova Dolyna and Poluzirye - tributaries of the Vorskla. There is a small pond in the village, arranged during the time of Mr. Abazi. Among local residents there is a legend that at the bottom of the pond lies a valuable treasure left by the last owner of the manor estate. The lion's share of the city of Poltava uses drinking water, which is extracted from artesian wells located on the territory of the Abazivka starostyn district. On the adjacent slopes is located botanical reserve "Rozhayivsky", with an area of 14 hectares, where many plants grow, including those listed in the Red Book.
